Established in January 2008, Wellington Green provides environmental editing and writing services to local authorities and research groups worldwide. In 2009 the company extended its services to include book commissioning for Earthscan, the leading international publishing house on sustainable development.

Experience
The Managing Director of Wellington Green Ltd. is Guy Robinson, BSc. Guy has gained breadth and depth of experience in environmental issues during eight years in professional environmental publishing, having made contact with some of the foremost international experts in the field.
A former employee of the PennWell global media group, Guy worked as Editor of Waste Management World magazine (www.waste-management-world.com). Responsibilities as Editor of Waste Management World included:
- Managing the editorial content in a bimonthly international magazine (circulation over 12,000 worldwide) and monthly electronic newsletter (circulation 10,000) on solid waste management.
- Writing articles on key topics in solid waste management for publication in Waste Management World.
- Commissioning and editing articles on key topics in solid waste management, working with the foremost international experts in their field.
- Researching and writing waste management news for global publication.
- Liaising with advertising sales team, ensuring that they are fully briefed on forthcoming content.
- Acting as the figurehead for the magazine at events throughout Europe and the USA.
From 2001, Guy worked as a Commissioning Editor for James & James Earthscan, which is the leading global publisher on sustainable development. Responsibilities included:
- Commissioning new books on renewable energy, sustainable architecture and heritage conservation.
- Working on large projects, including research projects funded by the European Commission, helping to transform academic research into commercially viable books.
- Developing the company’s international journals programme, including acting as de facto managing editor on the international Climate Policy journal.
- Editing submitted content, adapting text according to house style and ensuring clarity in expression.
Before establishing Wellington Green, Guy worked as an independent contractor for Somerset County Council, where his responsibilities included:
- Interviewing larger businesses across Somerset to discover how much waste they produce, of what sort and how they handle their different waste streams.
- Researching how the County Council itself handles its own waste, collating information from the various arms of the Council across Somerset.
- Informing the county’s future waste policy, helping to provide a platform on which new waste management and recycling infrastructure can develop within the county of Somerset.
Guy is currently undertaking a diploma course in plain English run by the Plain English Campaign, thus strengthening and updating his already substantial communications expertise.
